Extremely quiet and heats objects/people well by radiant heat. Used in a large, open great room where heating the room's air is impractical. Replaced a small fan/ceramic heater which we would huddle around. This heater keeps us warm while sitting on couches a few feet away. Very happy with this purchase.

I purchased this item maybe two months ago. I never used it much until I went to bed. When I turned it on it would be on no longer than 10 to 15min. tops before I turned it off to go to bed. Last week I turned it on as usual and it made strange noises and the second level of heating did not come on. No matter how many times I tried to heat it, it would turn itself off. I wish I could get my money back even though I have 4 other dish heaters in my home that work well for the last several years. But this one from another company pooped out. I didn't get my monies worth. I'm disappointed.

I have tried the quartz and ceramic heaters which often require a small fan to circulate air past the elements to heat the air. I have also been in homes that use natural gas for gravity heat, central air, built in electric ceiling heat, and a natural gas wall heater. Most of the gas or electric element heaters that I mentioned tend to dry out and remove some of the oxygen from the air which can cause that uncomfortable "soar throat and headache" feeling. These DeLonghi oil-filled radiators don't seem to negatively effect the air since they use clean electricity and simply heat up the air through efficient convection and radiation. This model TRD0715T has side metal tubing that creates more of a vacuum effect which seems to make the hot air blow out of the top of the unit without the use of a fan. Just bought this, still deciding whether to keep it. Ran a little experiment, thought it might give folks an idea of what to expect.
Room size: 154SF (11x14) Finished, unheated basement room, with one insulated external wall, the rest uninsulated interior walls. No windows, door closed.
Outside temp: 15F
Put heater in center of room Put thermometer on a desk 6 feet away Started at 10:20AM with a cold heater set on high, measured for 5 hours
So roughly 2 hours to raise the temp 10F, 4 hours to raise the temp 15F
Unfortunately, I suspect that none of the competing electric heaters would do significantly better, since they're all limited to 1500W. Since I'm reluctant to try a fuel-burning heater in an unventilated space, I may stick with this Delonghi and call it good enough... Read more

I've had an old Delonghi oil-filled space heater for 15 years or more. It had a recall on the control panel. The last few years it has been leaking oil on high setting. So I searched and decided on the newest version of the old Delonghi.
This is a good product with easy control and a clever timer feature (took me a while to figure out, though - NOT obvious, and I'm reasonably bright and handy!).
Only complaint, and it is fairly serious: when new, it stinks when run on high setting, which is only 1500 watts, after all.
There was a paper in the packing that said to expect some off-gassing at first. Well, I've run the thing for 5 days on high heat and it still smells toxic when running on high heat. The paint finish gives off some sort of fumes for days and days. I still cannot stand to run it on the high setting indoors at all. It really smells bad - like curing oil-based paint.

We've had this heater for several months and use it every night. It's used to supplement heat in a 15'x18' bedroom and heats that space up very quickly. I think the 'flame' looks quite realistic...just understand that it's not a real flame but they did a pretty good job representing a flame. The heat is blown from the bottom of the unit out to the front. The noise level is low, but the fan does stay on throughout the night whether the heat is on or off. But, we have two other Lasko ceramic room heaters and they are definitely louder than this. The thermostat function works very well. Please note, though, that the thermostat is not set by degrees. The first time you turn on the heater, you turn up the thermostat knob to the highest mark then when the room reaches the temperature you want, you turn the knob back until the heating turns off...that becomes your room heat point for the unit. I have always wanted a fireplace in my bedroom. At the back of the house, the room get's chilly at night and, also, I love the ambiance of a fireplace. My Dimplex Electric Stove arrived two weeks ago. I read the manual, plugged it in, put the battery in the remote and there it was! An instant wood-burning stove. It is so attractive and so easily moved from room to room. Honestly, the flames look real. Even when the stove is turned off, the logs are designed to have a little glow that looks like the dying embers of a fire. There is a very quiet fan underneath that blows out the heat and when I set the temperature control, it's just right to take the chill off in the bedroom. I almost didn't buy it because of some reviewers who were not happy with the thermostat. Maybe they did not read the manual. the dimplex store says these are exactly the same model and should be same price. that its a gimmick(the model number). So Amazon refunded the difference for me and recieved the cs33116A for $138 vs $156. The CS33116A is not a newer model!!
